To integrate renewable electricity into an open distribution system, it is important to accurately predict the energy output of solar panels and wind turbines.

With our «PreviGrid» unique model we are able to forecast the production for the next 48 hours, be it for solar or wind energy.

For the short term, our «PreviOpen» model uses satellite images to forecast the solar energy that will actually be produced during the day, by modelling at fine-scale atmospheric data, including 3D cloud cover. The data is refreshed every 15 minutes, with a precision of 3km.

This web platform, targeted to end-users, allows people to calculate the solar potential of their roofs. The model uses 3D airborne pictures to assess the slope and the orientation of the roofs, information which we crosscheck with sunlight data, to calculate the potential of each individual house. Subsequently, we calculate the investment and the pay-back period as well as the benefits for the user of his solar project. Given the need to take airborne pictures this service must be initially ordered by the cities themselves.
