Forecast of extreme and rogue waves
An operational service for forecasting sea states and warning of sea dangers.
SAVaS is the first service in the world for the forecasting and warning of sea states and dangers including innovative indicators for rogue waves, extreme waves, steep seas, crossed seas, etc.
The service offers continuous and tailored protection for all civilian and military actors involved in the marine environment.

SAVaS provides continuous 7-day forecasts of tell-tale indicators by taking into account the size of ships and offshore platforms to adapt risk assessment based on their vulnerabilities. Forecasts are produced at different spatial and temporal scales, and are updated every 6 hours. The information delivered by SAVaS is reliable, accurate, fast and easy to use and interpret.
SAVaS is completely independent and is operational worldwide.
Sudden, devastating and, until now, unpredictable
Rogue waves consist in extreme waves that occur suddenly due to a special combination of wind and swell. These surprising and very energetic waves are devastating. They can arise in a normal sea, and their size can exceed 30 meters. These waves represent a major risk for maritime navigation and offshore facilities.
Many accidents caused by the rogue waves have been recorded over the past years with significant economic, environmental, and human safety implications. The frequency of occurrence of these accidents is increasing due to climate change and the development of maritime activities.
There is therefore an urgent need for a reliable, quick and accurate prediction solution to protect against this risk.

Tested and approved by the French Navy
SAVaS has been tested and approved by the French Navy after an experience with one of its ships, L’Adroit, during a long-term mission in several dangerous areas where the phenomenon of rogue waves has been observed several times in recent years.
